Gallatin, TN – Today, Congressman Diane Black (R – TN), member of the House Ways and Means Committee and its Oversight Subcommittee, unveiled her latest YouTube video about how the American people can join her in fighting back against the IRS and Obamacare by becoming a citizen cosponsor of H.R. 2022 through the new, innovative web application, www.cosponsor.gov.

In light of the recent IRS targeting scandal and the unprecedented new power afforded to government bureaucrats through Obamacare, Black introduced H.R. 2022, Stopping Government Abuse of Taxpayer Information Act, a bill that would protect Americans from future targeting and potential abuses of taxpayer information, specifically by addressing the heightened risks of Obamacare’s mystery Federal Data Services Hub, the largest database of Americans’ personal information ever attempted by the U.S. government. H.R. 2022 requires that all government employees found guilty of targeting taxpayers because of their beliefs are fired and would halt Obamacare implementation until all government agencies, such as the Internal Review Service (IRS), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration, with access to Obamacare’s Federal Data Services Hub present to Congress under penalty of perjury certification that the American people’s personal information has not and will not be used for targeting any individual or group based on their beliefs. Black recently penned an op-ed published in U.S. News and World Report, where she makes the case for why Obamacare’s expansive new powers afford to the IRS and several other key agencies exposes the American people to even greater risk of targeting and potential misuse of their personal information. “With control over billions in federal dollars and even greater access to personal information, HHS and IRS with the aid of the Data Hub are well positioned to carry out the president's left wing agenda through coercion and harassment of its enemies and rewards for its allies,” said Congressman Black.

In an ongoing effort to make Congress more open and transparent, Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s office recently unveiled www.cosponsor.gov as the latest installment in his ‘Citizen Cosponsor Project’ initiative.
