Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Diane Black (R-TN-06) took to the House floor to call for support of H.R. 2775, No Subsidies Without Verification Act. Over the July 4th holiday, the Obama administration issued more than 600 pages of new Obamacare regulations, included in which was a controversial decision to delay verification of eligibility for Obamacare’s exchange subsidies. This delay in verification opens the door to the possibility of billions of dollars in fraud and abuse at the expense of the American taxpayer. Congressman Black’s legislation would block the federal government from doling out Obamacare subsidies until the law’s anti-fraud measures are implemented.
