Press Release

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Diane Black (R-TN-06) issued the following statement on House passage of the Conference Report on H.R. 3230 – the Veterans’ Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act:

“Our nation’s heroes deserve the finest medical treatment that we can provide them,” said Congressman Black. “While not perfect, this legislation provides needed accountability to the VA health care system, will improve veterans’ access to quality healthcare in a timely fashion and allow Congress time to propose long term solutions to the VA problem. Emergency spending should be reserved for our nation’s most pressing problems, and the healthcare of those who put their lives on the line to defend our freedoms is certainly a top priority of mine in Congress.”

Congressman Diane Black represents Tennessee’s 6th Congressional District. She has been a registered nurse for more than 40 years and serves on the House Ways and Means and Budget Committees.
