Rep. Black Visits Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Diane Black (R-TN-06), Chairman of the House Budget Committee, toured the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) which is home to some of the world’s most advanced scientific and technological research. The contributions of ORNL to the fields of nuclear science and defense enables researchers to achieve unparalleled breakthroughs and enhance economic competitiveness. Black released the following statement after her visit:
“The Oak Ridge National Laboratory is building coalitions with local businesses and universities to advance a broad array of fields including physics, materials science, robotics and energy. The revitalization of the East Tennessee Technology Park shows us that these efforts have the potential to revolutionize how we manufacture goods. I am greatly appreciative of ORNL’s contributions as they encourage active entrepreneurship by working with surrounding Appalachian communities and diversifying our economy,” said Congressman Black.
Congressman Diane Black represents Tennessee’s 6th Congressional District. A nurse for more than 40 years, she serves as Chairman of the House Budget Committee and a member of the Ways and Means Committee.
